David Carr, former Fresno State and NFL quarterback, has added to his portfolio of marketing partnerships with the endorsement of the Good Feet Store in Fresno, which sells ankle and foot support products.
David Carr was born in Bakersfield and attended Fresno State, where he played football from 1997 to 2001. He was later drafted into the NFL, where he played for teams such as the Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
Football takes a toll on the body, and he started using orthotic products from the Good Feet Store.
“My connection to Fresno, where I played college football, and now where I reside, makes supporting a local business like Good Feet Store a natural fit,” said Carr. “Investing in a health-focused brand aligns with my of promoting overall wellness.”
Good Feet Store was founded in Solana Beach, California, by Joe Paul in 1992 with the goal to bring comfort to people with feet issues. The store grew rapidly in many parts of the state with up to 300 locations. On March 1, 2001, Larry Schneider, president of the Good Feet Store in Fresno, debuted the local store, proud to offer a high quality product.
When the Good Feet Store and Carr began negotiating the endorsement, both realized the alignment of their goals to support the improvement of health and wellness in people’s lives. Schneider said Carr is a great person to represent the Central Valley because his connections to the community. He added that Carr is the “nicest person you’ll ever meet.”
“As a Valley native with celebrity status, David has the opportunity to highlight the spirit of the values of our greater community,” said Schneider. “I believe we see that in the work he does throughout our community.”
Carr said the endorsement speaks to his roots in the Central Valley, where hard work and resilience resonates in the community.
“I knew always want to come back to Fresno to give back to the community that supported me throughout my career,” said Carr, “if I can serve as a role model for the next generation.”
Schneider said that Good Feet Store products help many people improve their balance, supporting the foot, ankle, knee and back. She said many athletes have use their products to support their athletic performance.
“Twenty-four years and going strong — my team and I love what we do,” said Schneider. “The ability to help others also find more comfort in their life — to be more active and live a healthier lifestyle — is the reward.”
