The San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance and the Fresno Business Council will hold its 6^th annual Valley Made Manufacturing Summit April 21, 2020 at the Fresno Convention Center.

More than 1,000 people from manufacturing industries are expected to attend the event, held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration for the event opened this week.

The summit will offer workshops and a place to network and find out about the latest technology and practices in manufacturing.

“At its core, the Summit promotes cross-sector collaboration aimed at creating a globally-competitive environment for the Valley’s manufacturing industry,” states a press release for the event.

“After five years, the Summit has maintained continual growth, yet the focus remains the same — building a future where Valley manufacturing thrives through innovative collaboration, engagement, and creating a culture that cultivates workers that are higher skilled and better educated,” it continues.

The keynote speaker will be Fresno-based John Shegerian, co-founder and executive chairman of ERI, the nation’s largest company focused on securely destroying and recycling computers and other hardware.

“He is a highly popular speaker both nationally and internationally, providing his expertise in the field to various media outlets, including ‘TIME,’ ‘The Wall Street Journal’ and many others,” the press release states.

“As an entrepreneur, Shegerian co-founded several organizations built on his philosophies of making the world a better place, one business at a time, and of providing a second chance to those who are most in need. His philosophies have led him to run the largest electronic recycling company in the U.S. and one of the most successful student loan companies, among other ventures.”
