Fresno County Ag Commissioner Melissa Cregan presented the 2023 Fresno County Annual Crop and Livestock Report to the Board of Supervisors Tuesday, announcing Fresno County as one of the top agricultural producers in California and in the nation.

The 2023 total gross value for Fresno County agricultural commodities was a record-breaking $8.58 billion, an increase of 6.1.% over 2022.

This year’s report includes 300 different commodities — 73 of which have a gross value in excess of $1 million.

For second year in a row, grapes took the top spot with a total gross value of $1.3 billion.

Almonds held the second spot with a gross value of $1.02 billion and pistachios gained ground, but stayed at third with a gross value of $862 million.

Fresno County supplies food and fiber nationwide and abroad to more than 90 countries.

The top five export destinations for Fresno County ag are Mexico, Japan, South Korea, India and Canada.

  8. 8. Peaches—$365 million
  9. 9. Garlic—$309 million
  10. 10. Nectarines—$246 million
