A pair of Fresno-based, family-owned businesses have joined forces with the aim of making commercial spaces look their very best.

Interior design and furnishings company CORE Business Interiors and flooring contractor innovation Commercial Flooring announced their merger Monday, “creating an industry leader in commercial spaces in the Central Valley,” according to a news release.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The combined flooring entity will operate under the name Innovation Flooring, a division of CORE.

CORE CEO Tom Zimmerman and President Andrea Benson will continue to lead the team with the support of Wayne Goudreau as vice president of the flooring division. The headquarters for the combined company will be in Fresno.

“We see this as a wonderful increase of opportunities for our employees, as well as an expansion of services to our current clients,” stated Vickie Goudreau, principal at Innovation Commercial Flooring.

Both CORE and ICF are family-owned businesses that have been working in commercial spaces in the Central Valley since 2009. Each shares the values and mission of “creating environments that promote innovation, engagement and wellness, as well as supporting the communities they serve,” according to the release.

“We are excited to expand our services to offer flooring in-house to better serve our clients,” stated Zimmerman states. “We are looking forward to working together, while we continue to serve our community and create spaces that inspire.”
