Do you have thoughts about the public transportation system in the area?
The Fresno Council of Governments (COG) is conducting its annual Unmet Transit Needs (UTN) Assessment to identify needs “deemed reasonable to meet” in Fresno County, according to a news release.
The UTN Assessment is now accepting comments through March 24 regarding any transit needs, including for systems such as Fresno Area Express, Clovis Transit and Fresno County Rural Transit
Public outreach is an essential and required component of the assessment, according to the release. At the beginning of each year, the Fresno COG determines the amount of Transportation Development Act funds available for allocation to local agencies in Fresno County.
Allocations are made in the four categories of bicycle and pedestrian facilities, social services transportation, regional transportation planning, and public transportation. The Fresno COG must identify any unmet transit needs before fund allocation.
There are multiple options for the public to comment including an online survey , emailing comments to utn2023@PublicInput.com , or by voicemail by calling (855) 925-2801.
Residents can also attend an in-person or virtual event. For the schedule and locations, see this flyer .
