Fresno Yosemite International Airport is asking for the public’s input on future growth and renovations to the airport.
To that end, the airport will hold a open-house style forum Thursday to discuss its Master Plan Update from 6-8 p.m. at the Piccadilly Inn Airport, 5115 E. McKinley Ave.
During the event in the Californian B Ballroom, airport officials will discuss with attendees future plans for the airport and offer some displays. Opportunities to discuss the proposed projects with members of the teams developing them also will be available.
This is the second of three planned public meetings on the airport’s Master Plan Update, this one to look at its forecasted needs, the facility requirements to meet those needs and possible alternatives to the ideas already considered, according to a press release from airport officials.
The goal of the project is to ensure that the airport will be able to handle expected growth in the next two decades, including plans to expand the terminal, airfield, parking and airport access.
The total research process, from mapping to plan adoption, is expected to take up to 18 months.
The project research is being funded 90 percent by the Federal Aviation Administration, with the remainder coming from airport revenues, said Vikkie Calderon, a spokeswoman for Fresno Yosemite.
