A former Fresno State football player who made it to the NFL has entered the growing retail cookie market in Fresno.
Cookie Plug, which “slangs the fattest and thiccest cookies on the block” according to the franchise’s website, is hosting a ribbon cutting Thursday and a soft opening beginning Friday from noon to 8 p.m. at Campus Pointe.

Kevin Jordan, standout Bulldogs offensive lineman who graduated in 2000 and played nearly two years in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, is opening the first Central Valley location for the Anaheim-based franchise that celebrates graffiti and hip hop culture.
There are about two dozen Cookie Plug locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. About half are in California, with the closest being a pair of stores each in the East Bay Area and near Sacramento.
Festivities for the new Fresno location continue Saturday beginning at noon with a block party that including a live DJ, raffles, giveaways, vendors, youth hip-hop dance group, appearances from current and former Fresno State football players, a spoken word artist and hip-hop violinist from 4-5 p.m.
After injury cut short his professional football career, reported Fresno State Focus, Jordan became a counselor in the juvenile justice system. He went on to found his own group home and foster care agency called KYJO, or Keeping Youth Journeying Onwards.
