First 5 Fresno County has a new interim executive director following the departure of the previous holder of the position.

On Wednesday, the statewide agency announced that Fabiola Gonzalez will serve as interim executive after the previous director, Emilia Reyes, was hired as the new CEO of the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (Fresno EOC).

“First 5 Fresno will continue to prioritize the wellbeing of our families during this transition as Fabiola Gonzalez steps into the interim role,” said Fresno County Supervisor Brian Pacheco, the First 5 Fresno County Commission’s chair. “Commission staff is prepared and ready to move projects and partnerships along and maintain decision-making the best interest of our families.”

Gonzalez has worked on behalf of Fresno County families with young children as a member of the Commission staff since 2009. Her most current role was as deputy director for the last five years.
