One of the country’s fastest-growing bakery-café chains is coming to Fresno, according to a recent lease report.

Paris Baguette is a South Korean franchise with New Jersey-based U.S. operations that grew 25% from 2021 to 2022, reported Nation’s Restaurant News, opening 24 stores in 12 months — and already opened 18 locations so far this year.

Retail California reported a lease for 3,100 square feet at the Marketplace at El Paseo near Herndon Avenue and Highway 99 for Paris Baguette. There’s no word on the franchisee or when the location might open. A message left for a broker on the lease was not returned Monday morning.

Paris Baguette goes all in on the baked goods, offering cakes, pastries and breads as well as gourmet sandwiches and salads. Last year, it expanded its beverage offerings through a partnership with Italian coffee maker Lavazza.

Paris Baguette has more than 4,000 stores across the globe, since coming to the U.S. in 2015, it has opened nearly 150 U.S. stores — with plans to hit 200 by year’s end.

A Google search shows three Los Angeles-area Paris Baguette locations, more than a dozen in the Bay Area and one in Sacramento.
