Taxpayers impacted by recent winter storms in select California counties have received an extension to file their taxes.
The state Franchise Tax Board (FTB) extended the tax-filing deadline from April 18 to Oct. 16 for those impacted by winter storms. The extended deadline also applies to certain tax payments including:
- — Quarterly payments due Jan. 17, April 18, June 16 and Sept. 15
- — Business entities with tax returns normally due March 15 and April 18.
- — PTE (pass-through entity) Elective Tax payments due on June 15
The announcement last week places the FTB deadline on the same day as the IRS deadline, which was extended at the end of February. Several dozen California counties are eligible for the tax relief, including Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare.
