Events to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 begin early next month, organized by The California 9/11 Memorial in Clovis.

The Tunnel to Towers 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit will be on display in Clovis Sept. 3-4. The mobile exhibit is an 83-foot tractor-trailer that transforms into a 1,100-square-foot museum space featuring artifacts from Ground Zero, including World Trade Center steel, pieces of the marble lobby floor and the aluminum façade.

The exhibit features videos, 9/11 dispatch audio, and a tribute to the first responders who died on the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and those who died since due to 9/11-related illnesses.

The California 9/11 Memorial board of directors are bringing the exhibit to the memorial grounds that last year hosted an appearance by Will Jimeno, the port authority police officer who was buried in the rubble of the World Trade Center for 13 hours. The California 9/11 Memorial hosts annual events to remember the 2,977 killed that day.

“Our Mission is to Honor, Educate and Remember those who tragically lost their lives on that day in 2001.  This is an extraordinary way to bring our Nation’s history to our Community,” said California 9/11 Memorial Executive Director Terra Brusseau.

Tours of the exhibit are conducted by retired New York City Firefighters and first responders who responded to Ground Zero.

“The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit, shares the story of my brother FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller and so many others to communities across the country, teaching the new generation about the heroic sacrifices made by our first responders to save others that tragic day,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.

The California 9/11 Memorial is located at 3485 Never Forget Ln. in Clovis.
