Every Child Matters Candlelight Vigil

Join the North Fork Rancheria Tribal TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) in the second-annual Every Child Matters Vigil. The vigil, in collaboration with the Fresno American Indian Health Project and Fresno City College will seek to honor and remember all Native American children lost and abused during the boarding, residential and mission school era.

Speaking at the event will be:

Bobby Von Martin, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Indigenous artist
Natalie Deanda, Confederated Tribes of Siletz, Indigenous birthworks and activist
Gabrielle Lira, Choinumni Tribe, descendent of residential school survivor
Bernard Navarro, PhD, Professor at Fresno City College
Leece Lee-Oliver, PhD, Blackfeet and Choctaw, Director of American Indian Studies at Fresno State

Come out from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30 to participate in the vigil featuring Native prayer, dancers, Native American drummers, speakers, poetry, art, food, raffles and more.
