A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 8, for Downtown Fresno’s first-ever bagel café, Einstein Bros. Bagels.
Located at 2343 Kern St. in the Civic Center Square Crescent Building, Einstein Bros. Bagels prepares freshly baked bagels each morning, served as part of their signature breakfast sandwiches or with a double-whipped cream cheese shmear.
The store is located near a Starbucks in a long-vacant space that was formerly a Quizno’s.
Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer announced the grand opening will take place at 11:30 a.m.
Einstein Bros. joins two existing Fresno locations not far from the River Park and Marketplace at El Paseo shopping centers. An Einstein Bros. is also slated for Fresno Yosemite International Airport as part of a 15-year contract with travel convenience brand Hudson.
The Fresno Bee reported that the Downtown Fresno Einstein Bros. is headed by a trio of franchise owners including Jaime Gonzalez, Mohamed Alhalemi and Patrick Monreal, president of real estate firm The Saito Company.
GVWire reported the group plans to open five locations in the Central Valley.
