After nearly two decades in business, Fresno Lexus is in the early stages of relocating — a process that, for the luxury car dealer, has been in the planning stages for over a year.

A construction permit issued by the City of Fresno revealed plans for work at 7201 N. Palm Ave., the future home of Fresno Lexus. The dealership quietly announced the move more than a year ago when signage at the property first announced the impending move.

The permit filing names Newport Beach Morris Inc. as a contractor on the project.

A temporary construction fence was recently erected around the property near Palm and Locust avenues.

The property has been home to call centers for Bank of America and Covered California.

Fresno Lexus has been named Best Auto Dealership in The Business Journal’s annual Best of Central Valley Business Awards multiple times, including each of the last two years

The Clawson retail group will be sporting a new look this winter, with Clawson Honda undergoing a showroom revamp and Clawson Motorsports featuring a remodeled interior and exterior.

Clawson Honda customers will also be able to see more cars for sale as the dealership group expands into a former gas station nearby at Blackstone and Sierra avenues.

The store and dealership are undergoing their first remodel in several years, according to Allison McKoane, whose family has owned the dealership for nearly 50 years.

Each of the showrooms at Clawson Honda will feature a new look, including upgraded furniture, offices and an expansion of the dealership’s Clawson Cafe.

The dealership also expanded its sales lot with the acquisition of additional property on the corner of Blackstone and Sierra avenues. The space, most recently a 76 gas station, has undergone a transformation over the last year and a half, transitioning from a once-busy gas station to a brand new show lot for Clawson.

“We’re very excited,” she said. “It’s huge for us to get this extra space right on a corner right on Blackstone.”

McKoane said the extra space will allow the dealership to show more of its existing inventory on a high-visibility corner as well as create more workable space for dealership employees.

The McKoane family purchased Clawson Honda from Jack Clawson in 1975.

“Our third generation is now working here,” she said. “We hope to keep it going and keep serving the Valley.”

Clawson Honda is located at 6346 N. Blackstone Ave.

Fresno Mazda will host an Oct. 24 ribbon cutting for its newly remodeled showroom and front facade.

Fresno Mazda moved into its current home at 5499 N. Blackstone Ave. in 2019 after swapping spaces with Fresno Subaru. The two dealerships are located less than half a mile from one another.

The ribbon cutting for the new showroom will take place next Thursday and feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres and champagne, special gifts for the first 100 attendees and a special guest musical artist.

“We’re excited to welcome the community to our newly renovated dealership,” Rich Wass, Dealer Operator. “This grand opening represents not just a new chapter for our dealership, but also a commitment to providing exceptional service and a top-notch experience for our customers. We hope to see everyone at our big event!”

Guests will also be able to enjoy valet parking and a raffle for RSVPd guests, offering a chance to win a free car detail worth $350.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m., with festivities running until 8 p.m.
