De Young Properties is launching the second season of its “Sibling Showdown” web series with a charitable twist, pairing holiday home design competition with donations to local nonprofits.
The series, which premieres Oct. 30, features siblings Ryan, Ashley and Brandon De Young competing to design and decorate model homes at the De Young Armstrong Welcome Center. Each episode allows the public to vote for their favorite design, with new episodes releasing throughout November and December.
“This year, it’s about more than just design — it’s about giving back, spreading joy and celebrating the heart of the holidays,” said Ryan De Young, president of De Young Properties. “We’re thrilled to support three amazing local charities while creating a festive experience that connects our community and inspires others to join in the holiday spirit.”
De Young Properties has partnered with Educational Employees Credit Union to donate $5,000 to three local charities: Poverello House, Habitat for Humanity and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The winning sibling’s charity will receive $3,000, while the runners-up will each receive $1,000.
United Security Bank is sponsoring a $5,000 holiday cash giveaway for viewers who vote throughout the season.
“My design is all about creating warmth and togetherness for families during the holiday season,” said Ashley De Young, vice president of sales and marketing. “There’s something so special about bringing people joy through design and knowing that our efforts also help families in need across our community makes it even more meaningful.”
The siblings will collaborate with three well-known Central Valley design companies — Preen, RSVP Style and Designer Flower Center — to deck the halls of their model homes with festive décor and imaginative holiday design.
“This is my chance to bring innovation and fun into a holiday design that families will remember,” said Brandon De Young, executive vice president. “It’s all about creativity, friendly competition and community spirit — and knowing that our efforts also support incredible local charities makes it that much more rewarding.”
The 12-episode season will air on De Young Properties’ YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels, with episodes releasing between Oct. 30 and Dec. 22. Valley Security & Alarm is the season sponsor.
The series concludes with a free public event Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the De Young Armstrong Welcome Center at Armstrong and Clinton avenues in Fresno. Attendees can tour all three decorated model homes and vote for their favorite design. Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer will announce the winner at 3 p.m.
The first season in 2024 reached thousands of viewers across social media and email campaigns, according to the company.
