Taco Truck Throwdown returns to Chukchansi Park this fall, featuring a showcase of the best taco trucks the Valley has to offer and live entertainment from 3-time Grammy-nominated hip hop group Cypress Hill.

This year’s taco festival takes place Oct. 21 and will feature not only tacos, but Micheladas, vendors, music and fun for all ages.

Taco Truck Throwdown has grown over the years from its initial 2011 event, which featured seven trucks during a regular-season Fresno Grizzlies baseball game.

Since then, the event has become annual, warranting its own dedicated day and drawing crowds of over 10,000 to last year’s event, with nearly 40,000 tacos and more than 3,100 Micheladas sold.

“The level of talent at Taco Truck Throwdown gets better year after year and, by bringing in Cypress Hill, we feel the bar has been raised yet again,” said Fresno Grizzlies President Derek Franks. “The buzz around Taco Truck Throwdown 12’s early bird ticket offer has been incredible over the past couple of weeks, and we are ready for this year’s event to be one of the biggest in recent memory.”

This year’s event will feature more than 20 taco trucks, paired with 10 Michelada stands, more than a dozen vendors and more.

President of Fresno Street Eats Mike Osegueda has partnered with the Grizzlies since the inaugural event. Osegueda and Fresno Street Eats have played a key role in drawing both public attention and vendor appeal to the event.

“From day one, this event has always been about putting the great tacos of the San Joaquin Valley in the spotlight, and we look forward to doing that again,” said Osegueda. “Cypress Hill is a bucket-list type act for this event. Adding them to our already great lineup of taco trucks is going to make for an unforgettable night in Central California.”

Tickets for the event are available starting at $39 for general admission, and $99 for VIP tickets which include 10 taco vouchers, five drink vouchers and an event T-shirt.

Tickets can be purchased at fresnotacos.com or at the Chukchansi Park ticket office located at 1800 Tulare St. in Fresno.
