The Fresno County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced on May 2 the beginning of the 30-day public comment period for the draft of the Fresno County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for 2025-2030.
The CEDS is a five-year plan designed to help business growth, workforce development, infrastructure and real estate development, and quality of place. A news release states that it would elevate Fresno’s quality of life by “creating vibrant, sustainable communities that attract talent, visitors and support local businesses.”
“This CEDS represents a collaborative effort to chart a course for Fresno County’s economic future,” said Will Oliver, president and CEO of the Fresno County EDC. “Public participation is vital to ensure the final strategy accurately reflects the priorities and aspirations of our diverse communities. We encourage everyone to review the draft and share their valuable insights.”
The CEDS was developed by a 40-member strategy committee over 11 months. The plan reflects community input as well.
Over 200 stakeholders participated in interviews, roundtables and community meetings and over 600 residents contributed via a community vision survey.
The plan’s vision states, “Fresno County is a place where opportunity is accessible to all, prosperity is shared and a diversified economy supports resilient, thriving communities.”
The document is available on the CEDS website in both English and Spanish. Comments for the draft can be made on the website, in person at the EDC office, or by email at info@fresnoedc.com. Comments must be submitted by the evening of June 2.
