Customers of the Walmart Supercenter at 1185 Herndon Ave. in Clovis are getting their first look at a remodeling project meant for their convenience.

In addition to more self-checkout stands and additional parking spots, the remodel also includes a new 5,800 square-foot building dedicated to online grocery pickup orders.

The service is the first of its kind in the Fresno area and aims to expedite the shopping process.

“We are excited to welcome new and existing shoppers to see our improved store,” said Walmart store manager Emilio Baca. “Our new, dedicated space for online grocery pickup will allow us to expand our order capacity and better serve the Clovis community. Now, customers will be able to shop online and retrieve their items without having to exit their car.”

Customers interested in using the grocery pickup service can do so by signing into their Walmart.com account, reserving a pickup time and then parking in one of the designated spaces at the Walmart location.

An associate will then bring your order to your car.

Customers can also opt for text alerts — and can check in from the Walmart app prior to heading to the store.

The remodel also includes the addition of 33 self-checkouts and five Walmart+ registers, geared toward members of Walmart’s new subscription service that, among other things, seeks to streamline in-store shopping.

The Clovis Walmart location also offers pickup orders at no additional cost. Customers using SNAP are also able to use the pickup service in most states, including California. Walmart also continues their delivery and express delivery options, with the latter promising deliveries made in under two hours.
