The City of Clovis, in partnership with the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and the Business Organization of Old Town (B.O.O.T.) has announced a program aimed at boosting restaurant sales within the City of Clovis.
Through Feb. 13, customers dining at restaurants, bars and coffee shops are eligible to receive a $25 gift card after presenting $100 worth of receipts at the City of Clovis Administration Building.
Up to three gift cards can be collected per person.
The program, which started Monday, may end sooner if funding runs out. The city has set aside $5,000 for the program.
“We love our Clovis restaurant operators,” said Greg Newman, CEO of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce. “Local restaurants are more than just a place to eat. They provide thousands of full and part-time jobs, they provide a space where we can meet and socialize, and in many ways are the fabric of this community.”
Currently, the $25 gift cards are for Clovis eateries including 13 Prime Steak, Ark Mediterranean Grill, Marco’s Pizza, Riley’s Brew Pub, Sashimi Express, Sunnyside Pizza and Ten Tavern.
Participants will also be allowed to select “Old Town Bucks” in place of gift cards.
“Old Town Bucks” are redeemable at other well-known restaurants including Dicicco’s Italian Restaurant, Kuppa Joy, House of Juju and more.
City of Clovis Business Development Manager Shawn Miller said that gift cards for additional restaurants will be added throughout the program.
The program is meant to boost restaurant during a traditionally slow time.
“We did choose this time of year to do it because it’s notoriously and historically the worst time for restaurants – right after the holiday season,” Miller said. “We just wanted to turn that around a little bit.”
