Diners in Clovis seeking local brews and juicy burgers can collectively say “I have found it” with the opening of the first Clovis Eureka! Restaurant on Monday.
The restaurant may look familiar to Fresno diners – Fresno native Paul Frederick opened Eureka!’s first Valley restaurant near Palm and Nees avenues in 2010, aiming to create an environment where burgers and local brewers and distillers could be brought under one roof.
The Clovis restaurant, located at 950 Herndon Ave. in Clovis, will carry over the menu from Eureka!’s other restaurants, but each Eureka! restaurant features brews from local craft breweries and spirits from local distilleries.
The Clovis area has been in need of a restaurant that offers local brews and cocktails, according to Eureka! Restaurant Group Vice President of Marketing Alexia Peters.
“We feel it’s an incredible, up-and-coming area with a lot of businesses, a lot of families,” she said. “We felt that we could fit that need for the community.”
Featuring a warm and inviting bar space, Eureka! boasts an indoor capacity of 78, but the patio is where the Clovis establishment really shines, providing space for 96 additional diners inside the spacious covered area.
The patio area is equipped with heaters for outdoor diners. In the future, diners can expect to see televisions and a fire pit added to join the fountain in the covered space, according to Leslie Valadez, front of house manager.
Valadez, who was a bartender at the Fresno location, said that around eight employees were reassigned from the Fresno location, each of them through promotions.
“There were a total of eight of us,” she said, also adding several kitchen staff and servers transferred as well. “Our general manager from Fresno is now our general manager in Clovis.”
Peters added that the restaurant will continue to hire additional staff based on need.
Brews from local manufacturers will rotate weekly, with the restaurant hoping it can become a community favorite.
“It’s a really fun vibe,” Peters said. “We look forward to being the spot for the Clovis community to come and join us.”
