After a unanimous vote from the Clinica Sierra Vista board, Interim CEO and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Olga Meave has been appointed as the organization’s permanent CEO.

Dr. Meave will assume the role immediately and serve as Bakersfield-based Clinica Sierra Vista’s fourth CEO in the nonprofit’s 51-year history.

Dr. Meave joined Clinica Sierra Vista as physician-in-training in 2015 and later served as associate medical director in 2018. She was appointed chief medical officer in 2020, overseeing the organization’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was named interim CEO in April.

“The Board’s decision to appoint Dr. Meave as the permanent CEO was based on her passion for providing quality and accessible healthcare to the underserved populations of Kern and Fresno counties,” said Clinica Sierra Vista Board President Kris DeLano. “We are confident in our choice and look forward to supporting Dr. Meave in her efforts to fulfill our mission.”

Dr. Meave earned her medical degree from Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara U.A.G. before doing her residency with the UCLA-affiliated Rio Bravo Family Residency Program in Bakersfield.

In 2021, she did a fellowship with the UC Davis Center for Advancing Pain Relief and attended the UCLA Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Clinica Sierra Vista is a comprehensive nonprofit organization serving the primary medical, dental and behavioral needs of close to 200,000 people in Kern and Fresno counties. With support of federal, state, and local governments, Clinica Sierra Vista has been able to reach thousands of new patients, offering comprehensive programs tailored to the needs of all patients.
