Clinica Sierra Vista, one of the Central Valley’s leading health providers, honored local farmworkers on Tuesday, celebrating Agricultural Worker Health Day and shining the spotlight on some of the region’s most unseen but crucial laborers.

Ag workers were recognized for their contributions in Selma Tuesday morning, enjoying a warm meal, live music, a raffle and access to vital health information through Clinica Sierra Vista’s mobile health unit.

“Our agricultural workers are the backbone of our food supply and vital to our community,” said Christhian Pinedo, director of communications and community outreach with Clinica Sierra Vista. “This event celebrates their hard work and underscores the critical healthcare services Clinica Sierra Vista provides to nearly 46,000 agricultural workers and their families across our network.”

Clinica Sierra Vista is a key provider of health care to migrant and seasonal ag workers; the event highlighted the 1,400 community health centers nationwide that provide health care services to more than 31.5 million Americans, many of whom are seasonal and migrant agricultural workers.

Clinica Sierra Vista, which has locations from Fresno County to Kern County also took the time to reflect on Healthcare for the Homeless Day, visiting key locations in Fresno near railroad tracks and Roding Park this week, delivering crucial services and support to the local homeless population.

“We are bringing high-quality medical care to where our patients are.Whether they’re near railroad tracks or in park encampments, our mission remains the same – to deliver healthcare with empathy and respect,” said Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine Physician and Program Director Dr. Matthew Bear.

Clinica Sierra Vista continues to support the needs of local homeless communities and invites local residents and businesses to donate food, clothing and other essentials to be distributed to those in need.
