A partnership between Chevron and Fresno State that started in 2017 has reached a milestone as Chevron’s donations to the university topped $3 million following a recent donation to four different university programs.

Chevron donated a total of $350,000 to the College of Science and Mathematics’ Mobile Making Program ($100,000), Kremen School of Education and Human Development’s Community Career Counseling ($100,000), Continuing and Global Education’s Veterans Education Program ($75,000) and Lyles College of Engineering’s Finish Strong Program ($75,000).

The donations focus on addressing the shortage of STEM-trained workers in the Central Valley, aiming to provide enhanced educational opportunities in the field.

Chevron’s donation also highlights the company’s continued commitment to veterans through its support of the Veterans Education Program.

“We are deeply thankful for the ongoing support from Chevron,” said Dr. Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval, president of Fresno State. “Their intentional support of our programs elevates the impressive potential our students have, and in so doing, they are co-creators of future visionary leaders.”

The company presented the university with a check during a presentation on Wednesday morning.

“Chevron is proud to support Fresno State’s innovative programs that are shaping the future of our region,” said Chanel Jolly, corporate affairs manager, San Joaquin Valley Business Unit, Chevron. “We strive to empower people to improve their lives, achieve their aspirations, and meet their full potential.”

On Wednesday, Chevron representatives heard presentations on the Mobile Making Program, as well as presentations on the Kremen Community Career Counseling, Continuing and Global Education Veterans Education, and Lyles College’s Finish Strong programs.
