A Central Valley marketing veteran hopes to be swimming with the sharks in her latest endeavor, using her background in brand management to audition for the popular ABC hit show Shark Tank.

Jane Olvera Majors has spent 30 years in marketing in the Central Valley as the owner of Hyphen (formerly JP Marketing), and hopes her experience in the industry can help her elevate her new endeavor — Brade — to new heights.

Olvera Majors said Brade’s goal is connecting content creators around the world with branding and marketing professionals seeking to expand their media presence. Brade creates a digital channel to exchange branded content at an affordable price.

“With Brade, brands can access authentic videos and photos of their brand to feed that ravenous social media algorithm monster,” Olvera Majors said in a pitch video, adding that licensing and payment processing is handled on Brade’s end. That takes the challenge out of the hands of brand managers, leaving them time to focus on their company’s content and media footprint.

Olvera Majors said that the company, still in the pre-revenue phase, has a $1 million value based on industry advisors. It acquired its first client on Thursday.

The platform aims to launch this week, although Olvera Majors added that her lead developer, who lives in Los Angeles, was evacuated from his home Wednesday because of the wildfires.

Despite the evacuation and slight delay, Olvera Majors was in Las Vegas early Friday afternoon for her audition in front of the Shark Tank Producers at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

“No sharks here today,” she said in an email Friday. “I’ll find out by the end of the month if I made it to the next round.”
