Carole Jacoby, Owner/Broker
Carole Jacoby & Co. Real Estate, Inc.

What we do: We are a small, family owned and operated real estate company. Because we are a small boutique company, our clientele feels the warmth and hands-on service we provide. They are welcome to call us anytime, day or evening and we are delighted to be available to them. Because of the many years in real estate, we provide excellent information regarding anything of concern from our buyers and or sellers.

Education: I attended a number of city colleges in Fresno, San Francisco and Los Angeles,
majoring in business. Over the years, I have attended a large number of classes pertaining to real estate, including those on financing, marketing, economy and others. I stay educated on the market and the overall economy of the country, which directly impacts the housing market.

Family: Single, divorced with one child who is a licensed Realtor and works with me in real estate. Her degree is in criminology. She is a California State University, Fresno alumni. She is married and I am the grandmother of an 8-year-old grandson that I adore. My dog Jake is pictured with me.

Tell me a little about Carole Jacoby & Co. Real Estate, Inc.
My family moved to California when I was 3. We lived in Clovis, where I attended Clovis Unified schools. Graduated and moved to San Francisco, then down to Los Angeles and returned to Fresno in 1968.  Became a licensed Realtor in 1970.  My specialty is in residential real estate and relocation of families moving to our area. I know every nook and cranny of Fresno.  I love people and it shows.

How long have you served as owner/broker of Carole Jacoby Real Estate?
After working for a number of other local Real Estate Companies, I decided the best way for me to serve my clientele was to open my own office and be the chief decision maker. In 1998 I made the move to self-proprietor, which I love as do my clients. It helps me serve their best interest always.

What is the key to selling in the current market of reduced home availability, Carole?

Our market fluctuates so much. In the early spring, homes were coming on the market quickly with prices escalating. First time buyers were out en masse and folks finally had some equity enabling them to move up.
We have also had a large number of people who are scaling down. I educate my clients in the beginning of our relationship.
With fewer homes on the market, they understand the importance of getting out to see the new listings the minute they come on the market. They also understand the possibility of having to overbid if there is a number of offers being made on the same property.
It is imperative the buyers be pre-approved for their loan before we begin the home search.
Realtors will no longer submit offers without a letter of approval attached showing the buyers are already approved for their loan, subject only to finding the perfect property, appraisal and preliminary title report.

What is your strategic plan for maintaining a successful real estate firm, Carole?
The decision was made to continue doing business the same way I had done it for my previous years in real estate. My clients always come first and my hope is we will be friends for life.
My time belongs to them while we are either selling their homes or buying. Honesty, integrity and professionalism are the keys we operate by. Clients can call us anytime they have a question or maybe they just need their hands held. Whatever the reason, they know we always welcome them and we value and appreciate their calls.
Being up on the market, knowing how to negotiate contracts and giving excellent information to my clients always remains first priority.
Treat others exactly the way we wish to be treated is our motto.  A name known and trusted as a valued real estate company, Carole Jacoby & Co. Real Estate, Inc. has been voted in the top recommended Realtors year after year.

What are some of the features home shoppers want most in a home, Carole?
For the most part, families are still concerned with schools for their children. They have usually researched the schools and let us know right up front which school district they want.  Most all our buyers wish to purchase in a good neighborhood and hopefully with very little remodeling to do.
From there, some only need three bedrooms while others need more.  Some want pools, some don’t.

What was your first job, Carole?
Goodness. I moved to San Francisco soon after graduating from high school and a year at city college.  From San Francisco I moved to Los Angeles where I worked for an investment brokerage company and members of the New York Stock Exchange. That was a fun and exciting job.

What do you like to do in your spare time, Carole?
I love the role of community activist and am actively engaged in many parts of my community. I am a Rotarian. I love visiting with Friends, old clients, visiting Carmel, Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara but best of all, spending time with my beloved grandson.
But honestly, I so love finding the perfect home for my clients is not a job but a vacation everyday I spend with them. And being able to hang a SOLD sign on my sellers’ property brings great pleasure, not only for them, but also for me.  Real estate is a wonderful way to earn a living.
