The California Teaching Fellows Foundation has released its list of Educators of Impact recipients.

This is the first year that the CTFF has released an Educators of Impact list. The nonprofit connects students with opportunities as aides in after-school programs in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Tulare, Kings and Sacramento counties.

The 17 educators and teaching fellows were nominated for their exceptional dedication, leadership and heart in serving students and communities.

Claudia Readwright (Teacher) (nominated by Katy Madden)

Readwright’s nomination highlights more than four decades in early education, including teaching, curriculum development and coaching. Her work is described as having a long-term impact across multiple educational roles.

“Claudia embodies the very essence of an Educator of Impact,” Madden said.

Dee Dee Buchanan (Previous Teacher) (nominated by Katy Madden)

Buchanan’s nomination mentions her influence in both classroom teaching and educator mentorship. She has held roles from teacher to county office staff and is noted for offering professional guidance.

“Her ability to uplift and inspire both children and teachers is a testament to her passion for education,” Madden said.

Retamal was nominated for his service as a morning tutor. He is recognized for reliability and engaging student support practices. He is noted for consistently working at multiple school sites.

“Whether through his light-hearted math jokes or his enthusiastic ‘Yay math!’ cheer, he motivates students to stay positive,” Gonzalez said.

Jeffrey “Duffy” Dodson (Teacher) (nominated by Natalie Dodson)

Jeffrey Dodson’s nomination includes examples of student outreach and engagement across roles such as coach, teacher and site leader. His work reportedly connects with students who require additional support.

Education isn’t just a job for him—it’s a calling,” Dodson said.
