The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County hosted their 11th annual Harvesting Great Futures Gala in Reedley last Thursday, raising more than $70,000 for youth involved in the Clubs’ Reedley and Orange Cove clubhouses.

The Harvesting Great Futures Gala has raised nearly $1 million for Reedley and Orange Cove clubhouses in its 11 years. Organized by Boys & Girls Clubs Event Director, Sandra Dee Chaney, and a committee of local business owners and supporters, the gala generates funds through table sponsorships, auctions and drink tickets for those in attendance.

“Contributing to the success of this event increases our capacity to serve more kids, expand programs, and integrate innovative technology to help kids succeed in the classroom and in life. If you’ve attended, thank you for contributing to our mission of building Great Futures for youth,” said Diane Carbray, President/CEO.

Each club continues to operate under the supervision of professionally trained staff in a safe environment where the children can enjoy games, educational opportunities, field trips and a healthy snack every day.

“Although I see what it takes to put on an event like this, I also see the impact we make afterwards,” said Sandra Dee Chaney, Director of Community Relations & Special Events. “It’s an incredible position for me to be in when I am able to see kids and teens thrive and grow after spending time at our Club. I appreciate our donors and their investment.”

After-school programs at Boys & Girls Clubs focus on everything from academic success to healthy lifestyles and good character and citizenship.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
