The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County in Reedley has until Feb. 28, 2023, to find a new home as the City of Reedley expands its community center.
For more than a decade, the city has hosted the club at the Reedley Community Center, which is located at 100 N. East Ave. The after-school program caters to children 6-18 to provide a safe, positive place to help them reach their full potential.
Due to a planned community center expansion, that will soon no longer be the case, according to a Boys & Girls Clubs news release.
“The Club needs to be moved out of the Community Center by February 28th. The City was generous giving us six months to move when contractually, they only had to provide 30 days’ notice. I am confident the residents of Reedley will help locate a wonderful place for the Boys and Girls Club to continue serving their youth,” said Diane Carbray, president/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County.
Anyone who may have a new Club location to serve its more than 100 members can contact Carbray directly.
“I am so proud of our Reedley Club members, in part, because I was once a Club member”, stated Unit Director Jazmine Arceo. “Daily I see how our mission impacts the lives of young people. We empower Club members to graduate high school on time with a plan for the future, develop healthy behaviors at a young age, and inspire strong characters who become active community members. We are all passionate about continuing our Club operation in Reedley and serving the youth of the community.”
