Popular food truck Big Wagon Fresno announced Tuesday it will close its doors permanently on Aug. 30.

The Big Wagon, first conceived as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic’s indoor dining closures, provided its parent company, Pardini’s, with jobs for employees.

The impending closure was announced on Instagram.

Stationed in front of Pardini’s Catering and Banquets located at 2257 W. Shaw Ave., Big Wagon Fresno offered tri-tip sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, chili and more.

“Now, over two years later, our catering business has fortunately bounced back to full capacity requiring the full attention of our entire team,” the post reads.

Comments on the Instagram post showed an outpouring of disappointment and appreciation for the food truck, praising the food truck’s salads and fried chips, as well as what many consider the “best chicken sandwich in town.”

The post goes on to thank their team for making Big Wagon possible, and gathered more than 250 likes within the first three hours of posting.

“Lastly, we would like to THANK YOU, our loyal patrons, who continued to support us for over two years in our endeavor into the land of tri-tip and fried chicken,” the post concludes.
