Members of Fresno-based Noble Credit Union received an introduction this week to their new president and CEO — Angelino “Gino” Cayanan.
Cayanan assumes the seat of Susan Ryan, a veteran of 28 years with Noble Credit Union, with 22 years as president and CEO.
In a message to members, Ryan praised the board, executive team as well as Cayanan.
“While my heart is heavy, I want you to know that I leave you well cared for. We have a strong, steady and dedicated Board of Directors who believe in our mission and have led this credit union well for many years,” Ryan wrote. “Our management team will remain in place, and I can guarantee to you that they are beyond capable — I believe them to be among the best in the industry.”
Cayanan has worked in the credit union world for 25 years, serving in several senior executive positions including chief financial officer, vice president of finance, chief operating officer, chief lending officer and interim CEO.
He most recently served five years as senior vice president, chief financial officer for the Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union, where he managed $1.5 billion in assets and oversaw the finance, human resources and IT functions.
“I am excited to join the Noble family and to continue the mission of serving the 113,000 members with dignity, honor, and compassion to help the members reach their financial goals,” said Cayanan in a news release. “The Credit Union has done a remarkable job in its 82 years of creating a strong and financially sound institution its members can trust and be proud to be part. I view this appointment as an opportunity to champion the ‘Noble way’ and to lead the incredibly talented team to new heights in member and community service.”
It’s been a time of transition for Noble Credit Union, beginning with a name change from Fresno County Federal Credit Union in 2017. As of 2020, Noble Credit Union was the No. 6 largest credit union in the Central Valley, according to The Business Journal’s Book of Lists. It reported $917.1 million in assets and 220 employees.
