The Adventist Health Hanford Birth Center will celebrate its birthday on March 6, marking its tenth year providing specialty birthing services in the Central Valley.

The celebration will take place on Friday, March 6 at 10 a.m., inside the lobby of the Adventist Health Hanford Birth Center, located at 115 Mall Dr. in Hanford.

Tasvia “Tas” Mohamed, who delivered both of her children at the center in 2017 and 2019, will be in attendance. Mohamaed says her positive experience with the nurses and staff at the center expressed both their compassion and commitment to expectant mothers’ needs.

“During my first delivery, I remember one of the nurses holding my hand the entire time, encouraging me to stay strong and push,” Mohamed said. “All of the nurses were so kind. If I have another child, I’m having it at the Birth Center in Hanford.”

Since its opening in March 2016, the center has helped deliver over 23,400 babies. Currently the team consists of eight obstetrician-gynecologists (OBGYN), one family practice physician, four certified nurse midwives and nearly 100 care team members, ranging from nurses and certified nursing assistants to technicians and support staff.

Adventist Health Hanford’s birthing center is one of the provider’s four state-of-the-art birth centers throughout the Central Valley. The provider also operates birth centers in Reedley, Bakersfield and Delano.

Adventist Health and Valley Children’s Hospital have partnered since 1996, celebrating their 20-year partnership in 2016 with the opening of the family birthing center.
