Access Plus Capital shared its new home at a Downtown Fresno press conference Tuesday. The nonprofit now owns the historic Physicians Building, allowing for added amenities to its 900 clients.

The building, purchased for $1.4 million, will serve as the organization’s new headquarters and will also be used to provide space for small businesses and community organizations.

“I’m here to tell the community that this location is home — a home for small businesses, for ideas for business creation, for startups, for small business expansion, for partnerships, small business financing, financial literacy and for innovation,” said Access Plus Capital President Tate Hill.

Elliott Balch, CEO of the Downtown Partnership, is also chairman of the board of Access Plus Capital. He said this relocation will help establish downtown as a place minority business owner can find opportunities created equitably.

“This is a very special day to see Access Plus now taking the step into property ownership of its own,” said Balch.

Economic development leaders said Access Plus Capital’s is committed to the businesses in its coverage area.

“With an expanded space, Access Plus Capital can provide more tailored financial solutions, empowering local businesses to flourish while fueling inclusive economic growth and prosperity within the community, said Lee Ann Eager, president/CEO of the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation and former chair of Access Plus Capital.

Eager praised the work Hill and his team have done for the organization, growing Fresno and small businesses on a positive incline.

“Today, he showed us we could do it. Today he showed us this is what the future is for all of the people in the Central Valley,” said Eager.
