Bank of America and Central California Food Bank (CCFB) announced their partnership for a 48-hour triple-match donation campaign on July 17 and 18 celebrating the 33rd birthday of the food bank.
This Thursday and Friday, donations made to CCFB will be tripled by Bank of America, matching all donations for a total of $30,000 to raise funds for neighbors struggling with hunger in Fresno County.
Bank of America has partnered with CCFB for five years running, raising funds to purchase food and fresh produce for the food bank’s Groceries2Go appointment-based grocery pick-up program.
With Groceries2Go, neighbors can schedule appointments to pick up fresh food, including produce, bread, dairy, eggs, fresh protein and more, twice per month.
“As the largest hunger-relief organization in Central California, CCFB goes above and beyond to serve our neighbors in need,” said Mark Riley, Bank of America Fresno and Visalia president. “Bank of America is honored to triple match donations for the fifth consecutive year and to help move the region closer to achieving CCFB’s mission of a hunger-free Central California.”
CCFB partners with Bank of America and other organizations in an effort to combat food insecurity brought on by inflation, the rising cost of food and gas and funding cuts that impact families across the Valley.
The campaign comes as CCFB faces an uncertain funding future, with the organization’s leaders calling cuts in the “Big, Beautiful Bill” to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits as a “significant setback” for more than 300,000 monthly Valley residents served by the organization.
“This legislation will result in more people turning to our food bank to fill the gap as Central California Food Bank and our member partners are already struggling to meet record need,” said CCFB co-CEO Natalie Caples.
