The Clovis Police Department announced on Friday that the body of Fresno businessman Surinder Pal was found in a canal at Temperance and McKinley avenues.
A person fishing in the canal spotted the body and alerted authorities on Thursday morning, June 17. Pal, 55, who owned Standard Sweets and Spices with his wife, was last seen at the store at Blackstone and Dakota avenues on June 22.
His car was found near Temperance and McKinley avenues the next day, on June 23.
In their update Friday, Clovis Police said there were no suspicious circumstances in Pal’s death at this time. Authorities thanked the community for their assistance in the case.
Police put out an alert on Pal’s disappearance on June 26, saying that he was considered at-risk, and didn’t have his wallet or cellphone.
Detectives search by car, on foot and by drone to locate Pal.
Pal’s wife, Tracy Hansen, told yourcentralvalley.com that they had been together for 30 years. That day, she said Pal told her he needed to go out for more supplies, but never returned.
“We all miss him. His dad is missing him. His brothers and sisters are missing, nieces and nephews. Just everyone, we want him back,” Hansen said.
