The grand opening for a second brick-and-mortar location of Tacos San Marcos took place July 11, marking a major milestone for the Tulare County taco vendor’s journey from local food truck to storefront.
The ribbon cutting ceremony , which included free refreshments, was celebrated by the local business community, dignitaries and customers eager to welcome the business into its new home in Traver.
Starting as a catering business, Tacos San Marcos features six taco trucks serving the cities of Visalia, Tulare, Hanford and Lemoore, as well as the surrounding areas.
Tacos San Marcos’ Owners Carina and Rudy Gomez began their journey at the World Ag Expo, where they had the opportunity to serve tacos at the large-scale event. Since then, their passion for sharing food with the community has only grown, evolving into a team of around 25 members across their trucks and now their restaurant location.
“Your journey inspires us all,” said Tulare County Supervisor Eddie Valero. “And your success will light a path for others in the community to dream big, work hard, and give back.”
Tacos San Marcos in Traver is located inside RJ’s Travel Center at 36218 CA-99 Ste. C., in Traver.
The new store in Traver joins their newly-opened restaurant inside the AM/PM gas station in Visalia off Plaza Drive and State Route 198, located at 9017 E. Crowley Ave., in Visalia.
Tacos San Marcos is also an official stop along the Tulare County Taco Trail, a promotional campaign by Tulare County encouraging residents to explore everything from small-scale taco truck businesses to full-scale restaurants. To learn more about the Taco Trail, click here.
