U.S. News & World Report released its 2025 Best Senior Living communities Tuesday, listing nearly 1,900 communities nationwide, including three in Fresno County and two in Tulare County.
The report evaluated a total of ten senior living communities in Fresno and Tulare counties, highlighting communities that also featured memory care assistance, assisted living and independent living environments.
The Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens, The Vineyards – California Armenian Home and Fairwinds-Woodward Park all received accolades for Best Senior Living communities in Fresno County. The trio was also named a Best Independent Living and Best Assisted Living facility, with The Vineyards and The Terraces also named Best Memory Care centers.
Additionally, Tulare County featured two Best Senior Living communities — Shannon Ranch, a Quail Park Community, and Quail Park Memory Care Residences of Visalia. Shannon Ranch was featured as a Best Independent Living and Best Assisted Living with Quail Park named a Best Memory Care community.
“The U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Senior Living ratings highlight the growing importance of high-quality senior living options in California’s Central Valley,” said Liz Pearce, Director, Senior Living at U.S. News & World Report. “With Fresno County boasting 3 best-rated senior living communities and 2 in Tulare County, these ratings highlight the excellent community options available to area seniors.”
The Vineyards in Fresno is one of three assisted living facilities named a Best Memory Care honoree. The facility also received Best Independent and Best Assisted Living facility honors, as well as a number of additional honors highlighting performance by management and staff, caregiving, activity enrichment and more.
“I am incredibly proud and honored that our senior care community has been recognized with multiple U.S. News & World Report Best in the Nation Awards for 2025,” said Dennis Bacopulos, CEO of The Vineyards California Armenian Home. “The prestigious accolades received reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care and an extraordinary lifestyle experience for our residents.”
The Valley also suffers from a lack of senior-driven home improvement and renovation services. Recently, the Valley has seen an uptick in senior assistance programs ranging from in-home care services to services offering improvements to homes, allowing seniors to age in place.
“The population of clients is growing,” said Ravi Randhu, co-owner of Right at Home, an in-home senior care service provider. “As a lot of the Boomers have been retiring and, unfortunately, facing health issues, that market is growing.”
