National developer Scannell Properties was set to go before the Fresno City Council Thursday for its $100 million speculative warehouse complex, but the item was pulled from the agenda at the beginning of the meeting.

It’s the second time the item has been rescheduled this year. A new date was set for Feb. 22.

The national developer plans to build the warehouse complex off Marks Avenue, just north of Highway 180.

The four-building project totaling 900,000 square feet was approved by the Fresno Planning Commission in October 2023. That decision was appealed by Councilmember Miguel Arias, who raised concerns about the environmental analysis and history of the project.

Local project advisor Alex Tavlian said the company has already completed a full environmental study that awaits final approval.

Tavlian said Arias and fellow Fresno Councilmembers Luis Chavez were seeking to negotiate a project labor agreement for the build — an addition that doesn’t pencil out for the developer, Tavlian said.
