In 24 months, extended-stay living is making its way to Campus Pointe at Fresno State. A groundbreaking was held Friday for a Hyatt House across the street from the Save Mart Center.

The 91,433 square-foot, 138-room hotel will offer condo-like living as well as a 4,300 square-foot conference center at the northwest corner of Shaw and Chestnut avenues.

Hyatt House amenities include fully furnished rooms with full kitchens and living areas, fitness center, swimming pool, breakfast bar and the brand’s “H Bar” bar and grill.

 

“Campus Pointe has become a thriving mixed used development that attracts a diverse demographic from Fresno State and surrounding communities. With the addition of the Hyatt House, you will now get to enjoy all the comforts of home while you’re away,” said Tracy Kashian, vice president of marketing and public relations for Campus Pointe master developer Lance-Kashian & Co.

Hyatt House is the final component of the master plan inspired by a group led by Fresno State professor Jim Aldridge that came together to make recommendations of what they wanted to see at the development. There were five recommendations:

Student housing, resulting in the 244-unit Palazzo at Campus Pointe

Workforce housing, resulting in the 144-unit Palmilla at Campus Pointe

Senior housing, resulting in the 142-unit Maravillosa

Entertainment center with a movie theater, the Square at Campus Pointe and Maya Cinema

Hotel, the Hyatt House.

 

“This dynamic project is going to be a great amenity for Fresno State to foster additional growth and progress while filling the need for the Fresno and Clovis market,” said Nicolas Kazarian, Fresno State alum and local market manager for Banner Bank, financing partner in the project.

Design and construction will be led by Wallace & Smith General Contractors in Bakersfield, Arris Studio Architects in San Luis Obispo and Giannetta Civil Engineering in Fresno.

“What I see here is the intersection of life and learning. This comes together in a beautiful way in which we have our students enjoying the space with each other, with our families and with our community,” said Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval at the groundbreaking.
