The Fresno Grizzlies will soon make an announcement about the team’s new ownership group.
Paul Braverman, the team’s media relations coordinator, said in an email Thursday that a media alert will be sent out tomorrow to announce a Tuesday press conference where “details about the new ownership and their commitment to Fresno and improving Chukchansi Park will be shared at length.”
The Minor League Baseball team had been on the market for several years, but it wasn’t until June 2017 when the Fresno City Council approved an amended sublease for Chukchansi Park that would allow new owners to operate in the stadium.
Baseball trade publications have reported the buyer is associated with the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball. The buyers were identified in city staff reports under the Delaware-registered LLCs Fresno Sports and Events, which is owned and controlled by JC Sports and Entertainment, and Fresno Home Field.
