Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) has announced yet another record number of annual passengers.

FAT officials said the airport saw more than 2.4 million passengers served in 2023, a 12% increase from 2022’s figure of 2.1 million passengers.

Along with passenger growth, a terminal expansion is underway to meet current and future travel demands for the Central Valley.

International passenger volumes at FAT continue to outpace previous years. Last year, a total of 322,922 passengers traveled between FAT and Mexico, a 4% increase when compared to 2022.

“The continued growth of Fresno Yosemite International Airport is a point of pride for our city, and these numbers show that investment in our airport is working,” said Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer. “I’m thankful to the millions of passengers who have flown through Fresno, and I’m looking forward to continued momentum and even more new passengers in 2024.”

In May 2023 there was a groundbreaking on a new concourse wing, expanded passenger screening checkpoint, a new federal inspection station for international arrivals and added waiting area for families and friends.

According to a news release, cargo transported through FAT in 2023 totaled nearly 24 million pounds.

FAT will see its seasonal United Airlines nonstop service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning in May.

New daily nonstop flights to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) with Delta airlines and a new Saturday nonstop service to Dallas Love Field (DAL with Southwest Airlines launch in June.
