Registration is now open for the 6th Annual California Classic Weekend in Fresno and Clovis.

The event runs from April 2-3 and includes a half-marathon through the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and bike race along Highway 168.

On April 2, more than 2,000 cyclists will have the freeway to themselves as they ride ten miles down Highway 168 to begin their 100-, 60- or 35-mile ride.

The westbound lanes of the highway will be closed to traffic from McKinley to Shepherd avenues from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. to accommodate the first leg of the bike race. All eastbound lanes will remain open on Highway 168 throughout the event.

On April 3, runners will have the chance to race through the new African Adventure exhibit at Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo and Downtown Fresno. The course ends at home plate in Chukchansi Park and participants can choose between running the half marathon, half marathon relay or 5k run/walk.

Participants in both the run and bike events will receive a custom finisher’s medallion upon completion of the course and all participants will get an event technical shirt, ChronoTrack chip timing and free massage.

Proceeds from the California Classic Weekend benefit the Chaffee Zoo. For more information on the event visit www.californiaclassicweekend.com.
