Lance Kashian & Co. is celebrating the groundbreaking this week of Sarah’s Court, a 120-unit affordable housing complex in the Fancher Creek development of Southeast Fresno.

A year ago, the City of Fresno approved a 55-year, $6.2 million loan with a 3% interest rate to help in securing state housing tax credits necessary to complete Sarah’s Court. The California Housing Finance Agency granted the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits in September 2022.

“Solving Fresno’s housing crisis is critical for the trajectory of our city, county, and region. The first step is increasing the supply of homes,” said Fresno City Councilmember Luis Chavez in a press statement. “I am grateful to work with strong partners such as Lance Kashian & Company to take a giant leap forward in bringing affordable homes to Southeast Fresno.”

Sarah’s Court is located at 200 N. Salma Ave. near Clovis and Tulare avenues.

Sal Gonzales, president of Lance Kashian & Company, told GVWire the project — estimated to cost about $33 million — would take about 24 months to build.
