The C-SPAN network, known for its television coverage of federal government proceedings, will be in Visalia next week to highlight the community’s literary and historic sites.

C-SPAN producers will visit the town from Jan. 6-10 visiting various sites and interviewing local historians and non-fiction authors and conducting educational and community outreach.

The segments recorded will air Feb. 2-3.

Visalia Mayor Bob Link will host a special ceremony Jan. 7 at 5 p.m. at the Visalia City Hall council chambers to welcome the C-SPAN producers, who plan to reveal the stories and segments that will be explored.

Other cities that will be explored during the 2019 tour include Santa Monica, California; Independence, Missouri and Springfield, Illinois.
