The Visalia Chamber of Commerce will hold its 38th Annual Christmas Tree Auction Holiday Affair Dec. 7 at the Visalia Convention Center.

Guests will be able to bid on large and small Christmas trees elaborately decorated by nonprofit groups as well as for goods and services donated by merchants and others.

Those nonprofits include Arts Visalia, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Center, ImagineU Interactive Children’s Museum, the Kaweah Delta Hospice Foundation, the Visalia Rescue Mission, Valley Oak SPCA, Read for Life and the Samaritan Center of Tulare County.

The formal event also will include food, music and dancing.

“More than four million dollars has been raised for local charities over the last 37 years. Underscoring the significance of this annual event, the Christmas Tree Auction is the primary fundraising mechanism for participating nonprofits,” states a chamber press release.

It goes on to say that volunteers already have started to design and decorate 13 large Christmas trees for the main auction, and proceeds from silent auction items – including the small decorated trees – will benefit more than 20 local nonprofits.

The public will be able to view the trees from 2-4 p.m., and the formal event will open at 6 p.m. for people with VIP tickets – which are sold out – while general admission ticket holders will be let in starting at 7 p.m.

Buy your tickets for $80 online at www.visaliachamber.org/christmastree.
