Larry Ramirez, 52, of Tulare was sentenced to four months in prison last week for stealing benefits paid by the U.S. Social Security Administration.

According to court documents, from 1997 to 2013, Ramirez failed to disclose income he made from owning and operating an auto body repair business in numerous applications for SSA benefits.

The income would have disqualified him from receiving SSA Supplemental Security Income benefits.

In March 2010, he started that he had not worked in more than 15 years.

As a result of Ramirez’s misrepresentations, he stole more than $90,000 in disability benefits, according to U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner.
