The California Chamber of Commerce has issued its scorecard on which state legislators voted in line with the organization’s priories, with three Central Valley representatives boasting perfect scores.

Based on floor votes, the chamber reports that Republican state Senators Andy Vidak and Jean Fuller voted in alignment with the chamber on 14 bills during the 2017-18 state legislative session.

Assemblymember Jim Patterson, also a Republican, was the only Valley Assembly delegate with a perfect score of 15 votes in line with the chamber during his legislative session.

Assemblymembers Frank Bigelow and Devon Mathis, both Republicans, came close to having perfect scores, each with 14 votes.

“This is the 44th vote record the CalChamber has compiled in response to numerous requests by member firms and local chambers of commerce that would like a gauge by which to measure the performance of their legislators,” says a statement issued by the chamber with the voting scores.

“No vote record can tell the entire story of a legislator’s attitude and actions on issues of importance to business. To fully evaluate your legislative representative, consult the legislative journals and examine your legislator’s votes in committee and on floor issues,” the statement continues.

As for the other Central Valley legislators, on the Senate side, Republican Anthony Cannella had a score of 13, while Tom Berryhill had the lowest score among all senators– two votes, but the report notes he only cast two votes during the session and missed the other votes due to illness.

Berryhill has reported that he’s recovering from severe back pain and a fractured hip, and he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He terms out of office in December.

On the Assembly side, Democrats Joaquin Arambula and Anna Caballero had only five votes each in line with the chamber, while Democrat Rudy Salas had 10 votes.
