For car enthusiasts of the Central Valley, getting behind the wheel of a Ferrari or a Lamborghini might seem like the ultimate driving experience, only possible if you owned one of the supersport cars or if you travelled out of the area to rent one.

Oxotic Supercar Driving Experience in Fresno gives car lovers a chance to drive a luxury sports car on one of their rally tours, bringing another option for entertainment to the Valley.

Customers have the option to drive a Lamborghini Superleggera, a Ferrari 458 Spyder or an Audi R8 Spyder, which all have a price tag between $200,000 and $300,000 each.

“There’s nothing else like this in the whole Valley. We are different than other companies, said Oxotic founder Kevin Mosesian. “In Los Angeles and Las Vegas it’s more of ‘here’s your keys and go,’ and it costs quite a bit more, anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000 dollars for a day. That wouldn’t have worked in Fresno, with people’s budget.”

Mosesian also notes that Fresno has great roads for driving – as opposed to roads in Los Angeles that are clustered with traffic – that allow drivers to better utilize the supercars.

A car collector and avid car lover since childhood, Mosesian wanted to bring the supercar driving experience to the Valley, opening in May Oxotic Supercar Driving Experience to much buzz and excitement from media and car enthusiasts. They were already getting bookings before the business officially opened.

He is also a manager at local digital television broadcasting station KSDI Mega TV 33.1.

A friend of Mosesian ran a similar sports car business in Denver, Colorado. Mosesian saw how he ran the business and “copied the recipe for success” for running Oxotic.

Tour packages start at $99 dollars for a 15-mile tour, and go up to $1,250 for a 165-mile tour to Yosemite National Park, allowing drivers to cycle through three to four different luxury sports cars.

To get the ultimate supercar driving experience, customers will follow a pace car, a Porsche Cayenne, and be in communication with the driver via walkie-talkie for instructions on how to properly drive and operate the vehicle.

No training or classes are required to drive one of the supercars, and Mosesian purposely bought all automatic-transmission cars to not limit the driving experience only to people who know how to drive a manual transmission.

Though Mosesian has a personal collection of over a dozen vehicles, he bought three brand new cars for Oxotic, and to afford a fleet of luxury European supersport cars, he took out loans and uses the profits from Oxotic to pay them off.

With such a vibrant car culture scene in Fresno, and other Central Valley cities such as Modesto and Bakersfield, the business saw a lot of support and many in the car community said the area needed this kind of entertainment. In a period of four months, Oxotic rose to second place for outdoor activities in Fresno on tripadvisor.com.

Mosesian hopes that business does well enough that he can purchase a McClaren, a British supercar, in the upcoming year. He’d also like to see cars going out on the daily. Currently, Oxotic averages three to five tours per week, and he would like to see that number go up so he can buy more cars, and offer different driving experiences.

A 5,000 square foot warehouse is located behind the Oxotic office where the fleet cars are kept, as well as cars from Mosesian’s private collection, and he says that depending on mechanical issues, he and his employees will perform maintenance on the cars.

Mosesian said that he likes to see how excited young people get about the cars and how it can inspire them to work hard enough to eventually buy one.

“It helps to have goals in life, and for kids to see these cars and to see someone like myself – I’m nobody special – to be able to have these cars. It gives them good work ethic and a goal to have. That’s what these cars are for, to share with the community.”

Oxotic Supercar Driving Experience is located at 706 W. Herndon Avenue in Fresno. For more information visit the website at www.oxoticfresno.com.
