RENTCafe.com, a nationwide apartment search website, has released its latest report showing the average rent in the largest cities of the Central Valley are generally higher than the national average.

Apartments in the Kings County city of Lemoore saw the second highest monthly increase in the Central Valley, with a jump of 1.1 % in May, $11 higher than the previous month. The average rent in Lemoore was $981.

On the other end, out of the cities analyzed, Kerman was the most affordable with an average rent of $923, up 0.8%.

Fresno, where the average rent for the month of May was $1,072, saw a month over month increase of 0.6%.

The average rent in May for Clovis was $1,105, with a month-over-month change of 0.5%.

Visalia’s average rent last month was $1,105, up 0.5% from the previous month.

The highest average rent was in Davis with $2,105, up 0.5%.

The information on the reports is compiled directly from large-scale multifamily properties through a telephone survey.
