Suncrest Bank today announced the opening of its first office in Fresno and the appointments of Jennette Williams as president for the Fresno market and Jeannine Welton as commercial banking manager.

The bank also announced that Craig Howells, its government loan products manager, would also be joining the new Fresno team.

Making the announcement, Suncrest President and CEO Ciaran McMullan said, “This is a logical next step in the development of Suncrest Bank, and under Jennette’s leadership, I am looking forward to both better serving our existing Fresno customers, and further growing our business in that market.”

Williams added, “I was attracted by Suncrest’s community banking philosophy, and the opportunity to build the business from the bottom up in Fresno.”

The new office, to be located at 2014 Tulare St., will be Suncrest’s second location in Fresno County. Suncrest opened a full service branch in Kingsburg in June of 2015.

Suncrest’s board and management already have significant ties to the Fresno market. Bill Benneyan, chairman of the bank, who was born and raised in Fresno and is a graduate of CSU Fresno, said, “The Board could not be more pleased with the leadership of our executive management team and the strategic direction of the bank. I am particularly excited to open our first office in the city where I grew up.”

As of Dec. 31, 2015, Suncrest Bank had approximately $300 million in total assets, and in both 2014 and 2015 was in the top 1.5 percent of fastest-growing banks in the country, based on annual percentage growth in total assets.
