Visalia-based San Joaquin Valley (SJV) Homes announced it has sold all 71 homes at Catalina, a new residential community located at Mooney and Kern streets in Tulare.

Sales began at Catalina in March 2014 and the last home was sold in December 2015, which reflects an average closing rate of about 3.5 homes per month.

“We expected Catalina to sell out quickly because it’s one of the few offerings in this area that provides quality, low-maintenance homes at an affordable price,” said Joe Leal, co-founder of SJV Homes. “Catalina is a beautiful neighborhood that has been well-received.”

Catalina, SJV Home’s first subdivision in Tulare County, features 1,260- to 1,575-square-foot homes on 4,500-square-foot lots as well as a neighborhood park.

In 2015, SJV Homes added two more subdivisions, San Marino in Visalia and Sedona @ Palo Verde in Tulare, for a total of five neighborhoods in Tulare County, one in Kern County and two properties in Kings County, the nation’s second-fastest-growing urban county.

Founded in 2013 by Leal, Jim Robinson and Randy Merrill, who had overseen construction of more than 800 homes a year while working together for another builder, SJV Homes has grown from one home closing in its first year to 268 home closings in 2015.
